Design and fabrication

Like anything – if you dont have a good foundation then you dont have much. With that in mind, GMS Hot Rods has a good understanding of chassis design for ultimate stance, style and to be DRIVEN!

Chassis fabrication includes modifications of existing chassis thru to all new chassis for various makes and models. All chassis are either TIG welded together in our specific chassis jig to suit Model T, Model A, 1932 Ford, 1933-34 Ford or 1935-48 Ford or we can do other make or larger chassis’ on our chassis table.

As an authorised dealer for Pete & Jakes Hot Rod Parts we typically use these time proven parts in all our chassis. GMS Hot Rods have no firm preference in the build style or component choice as that is all dependent on what the custom wants however we will advise a good path for everything to work in a sense of the genre the car is built to and how it will function.

Sheet metal fabrication

GMS Hot Rods can bring your build thru to any stage from a rolling chassis/body combination, a pre paint stage or completely finished to a turn key and drive away stage. With that said, GMS Hot Rods can also carry out various sheet metal aspects to your project. Custom floors, gearbox covers, bespoke design (aluminum interior panels) and fabrication and also burst proof door latches and other pre paint fabrication and assembly for hot rods and custom cars.

As an authorised dealer for Brookville Roadster, GMS Hot Rods can supply complete reproduction steel bodies for Model A and 1932 Ford.

If you dont mind a fibreglass reproduction body we strongly recommend and Australian made Deuce Customs/Detroit body which is available here in New Zealand from Rods by Reid in Tauranga.
